German Retana is a faculty member at INCAE Business School, where researches and teaches about firms digital transformation and data management. More specifically, he’s interested in the innovation and growth opportunities enabled by cloud computing technologies. For his research he has worked directly with the business analytics team of a major global public Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider. His research has been published in two of the top academic journals in the world. Additionally, he has been a consultant for various firms in IT strategy matters and spoken about cloud and data-related topics in multiple forums to business executives, CIOs, and developers.
German has a Ph.D. in IT Management from Georgia Tech, and MBA from INCAE Business School, where he graduated with honors, a Masters in Project Management from the University for International Cooperation, and he also graduated with honors as Computer Engineer from the Costa Rican Institute of Technology.
